Hi Stu, I've been off for a while hence delay in responding. Last time out I tried to give it a blast to keep the turbo clean but I had to back off due to a vibration above 2000 rpm. Prop definitely OK, little bit of play in cutless but boat now back in the water so I intend to check the alignment.
Is this a normal/routine process or is it considered to be only required after damage?
First step is to check it, so will loosen the 1/2 coupling bolts and ease the faces apart and check the gap between the faces, trying to get a 4thou feeler between them at top bottom and both sides. Turn the whole assembly 90 degrees and check again etc. I will mark the top edges of both bits of the coupling but will not split them.
What are the dimensions of a cutless bearing to fit my 40mm shaft?
Regards
